What is dry sift hash?
There are numerous ways to create a cannabis concentrate, and one of the oldest methods produces dry sieve hash. It gets its name “dry sieve” because there are no chemical solvents used, not even water, as in ice water or bubble hash.
Dry sifting involves a series of screens with different micron grades. Plant material is rubbed on a screen, allowing trichomes to fall through to the next screen for further refinement, and plant matter is filtered out. When harvesting, many growers trim cannabis above a sieve to collect fallen trichomes for dry sieve hash, rather than letting those trichomes fall to the floor to become waste.
Dry sieve hash can be pressed together to form hand hash. Dry sieve, or kief, can also be sprinkled on top of a bowl of flower to increase potency.
